MADAME PARRAVICINI’S CONCERT.At Madame CELLINI’S residence, in Manchester-street, Madame la Comptesse PARRAVICINI, the celebrated female violinist, gave a concert, which was very well attended. An apology was made for Mdlle. GRISI and Signor TAMBURINI, who were prevent from attending; but we heard Mdlle. SALVI and OSTERGAARD, Madame KYNTHERLAND, Signori RUBINI, IVANOFF, GIUBILEI, CURIONI, and PIOZZI. Mr. MOSCHELES played a capriccio on the piano, and M. SEDLATZEK a concerto on the flute. Besides which Madame le Comptesse gratified her friends with the performance of one of VIOTTI’S grand concertos, and of RODE’S grand variations. In both instances she surprised as much as she delighted her hearers. Her intonation is rather indifferent, bat [sic] her execution is remarkably brilliant. In the first piece the passage in which the pizzicato is combined with the staccato was very neatly executed. Female fiddling is not quite a novelty, for the Ladies have played “first fiddle” since the days of Eve; but it is evidently getting more conspicuous, so that we expect in a short time that the sex will not confine themselves to the violin, but will associate and form a complete orchestra. Then your SPAGNOLETT’S and DRAGONETTI’S, horns, flute, trumpets, and double drums, must all hide their diminished heads
