Review

The Morning Post (June 7, 1826): 1.

ADULT ORPHAN INSTITUTION, Regent’s Park, 5th June, 1826.—The Managing Committee are much gratified in informing the Friends of the Institution that the result of the Concert which took place on the 1st inst.. under the Patronage of her Royal Highness the Princess Augusta, has proved highly beneficial to its final-; it having produced, after the payment of all expences [sic], upwards of SIX HUNDRED POUNDS; at the same time, they feel fully convinced that the general interests of the Institution will be materially advanced by the public being more extensively made acquainted with its peculiar claims for their support.

The committee will now be enabled to fulfil all the engagements which they had entered into for the completion of the building erected by them in Regent’s Park; and the continuance of such liberal patronage on the part of the public would enable them considerably to extend the objects of this most beneficial Charity,

It is important to state that the applications made to the Committee for Governesses in Families of the highest respectability, greatly exceed (from the limited number of young Persons whom they can received) the means they have of supplying such demands.

The Annual General Meeting of Subscribers will be held on Friday, the 30th inst. at One o’Clock precisely, at the House of the Institution in the Regent’s Park.

The Subscribers are also informed that an Elections will take place in the month of August next.
