Reviews

The Harmonicon, vol. IV (June 1826): 131.

Mr. F. CRAMER’S,—Friday, May 5th, at the Hanover-square Rooms.

Though the fine band of the Ancient Concert attended on this occasion, the selection was almost exclusively of modern music: the only exception was Handel’s 11th grand concerto, in which Mr. Cramer delighted his audience by his fine, rich tone, and chaste manner of playing. After all, this is the style that will permanently please. Madame Pasta sang “Tu ch’ accendi:” Mr. Wesley performed a fugue of Sebastian Bach on the organ; and M. Moscheles repeated his charming Recollections of Ireland. Miss Stephens, Mad. Caradori, Signor Curioni, and others, assisted at this concert.
