Biography

Sevastiana Nourou is a Greek-Cypriot historical musicologist and pianist. Sevastiana specialises in Ignaz Moscheles’ career. She has undertaken an in-depth archival research into Ignaz Moscheles’ concert life and her thesis focus regards his reception and his influence on nineteenth-century concert life.

Currently, lecturer at the University of Nicosia (Cyprus).

Research interests: aspects of concert-life of the early nineteenth century: Ignaz Moscheles, early nineteenth-century pianists, reception studies, listening experience, concert programming and canon, piano arrangements, piano virtuosity and free fantasias.
